Letter from the Chair
Welcome to our website. Greater Manchester Learning Partnership (GMLP) was set up in autumn 2015 following an extensive consultation period. The original impetus was the requirement for teaching schools to work together to develop the school led system.
Teaching schools rightly realised that, for the system to be effective, all partners must work together to produce the best possible outcomes for the children and young people of Greater Manchester.
The work of the partnership is guided by an executive group. The full partnership meets once a term with individual groups meeting more regularly and local partnerships in each of the 10 Greater Manchester LA areas.
This website is intended to support the work of our members and to provide a contact point for schools and other organisations both locally and nationally who want to access information about our work or engage more directly in the various initiatives that are underway. It also provides a single point of contact for government agencies that want to liaise with schools in Greater Manchester.
The GMLP Executive Group also sit as the Strategic School Improvement Board (SRIB), which has responsibility in partnership with the DfE for identifying the key local priorities for the Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF) and making recommendations to the National Expert Investment Board on the quality and relevance of the bids
If you require any information about GMLP or want to know how you can engage in our work please contact me directly.
